5 Reasons Why One Shot Concentrates are Great

Fri 12 May 2017

In the world of DIY e liquid there are two types for flavour concentrate: One Shot and Basic.

One Shot concentrates are blended concentrates such as Heisenberg and Goose Juice that comprise of multiple different flavours to create one finished blend.

Basic flavour concentrates are simply one flavour (apple, peach, custard etc.) that are primarily used in combination with one another to create an e liquid flavour.

Here at ELFC we specialise in One Shot concentrates, so here are 5 reasons why we think they’re just so darn great.

1: No recipes required

If you search the internet for e liquid recipes, you’ll come across about 400 million of them. Finding out which ones are good is impossible, with many having no ratings or reviews whatsoever. Also, who’s to say that the recipe you’re looking at is genuine? For all you know it could have been made up on the fly by someone who has no idea what they’re talking about. With One Shots however, all you need is you PG, VG and a single bottle of concentrate.

2: No waste

Let’s say you wanted to make 250ml of a certain e liquid flavour using a combination of different concentrates. Let’s also say that the recipe you’re using calls for 2.1ml of cherry for example. Most basic concentrates come in bottles at a minimum of 10ml, so what are you going to do with the other 7.9ml of cherry you’ve bought? You could make the same 250ml bottle again 3 times, but you’d still have 1.6ml left over. Then what? If you wanted to use it in other recipes down the line you’d have to remember how much you had left, which is hard if you have a collection of dozens or even hundreds of concentrates in varying amounts. If you follow the recommended mix percentage of One Shot concentrates, you’ll know exactly how much to make with no waste.

3: It’s an easy way to make your favourites

The full TPD implementation quickly approaching, many e liquid manufacturers are turning to One Shot concentrates to allow their customers to have their favourite flavours in bottle sizes larger than 10ml. Brands such as Vampire Vape, T-Juice, Vapercrew and others have already gone down this route, and we expect many more to follow. Why go down the route of finding a clone recipe for, say, Pinkman, when Vampire Vape already allow you to mix your own using the exact recipe they originally created? Also, clone recipes are often an estimate at best, and at worst an outright flavour disaster.

4: They’re quicker to make

Having a recipe that requires multiple basic flavour concentrates, often as many as 10, is obviously going to take longer to mix that using a single One Shot concentrate. You’d have to measure each one out one by one, being careful not to add too much or too little. This can be very time consuming, especially if you’re making multiple bottles in one go. Using One Shot concentrates makes the process much quicker.

5: It’s just so easy

For all the reasons we’ve already mentioned and more, One Shot concentrates are a much easier way of making DIY e liquid as opposed to using basic flavour concentrates and recipes. As we’ve mentioned many times here on our Blog, the TPD is going to change the e liquid market, making it much more expensive and inefficient for consumers. Making your own e liquid is the answer to this, and there’s no easier way of doing it than with One Shot concentrates.
